A Message from Our Superintendent

Happy New Year Friends!

The gray skies of January are behind us, and we're hoping for some sunshine in February. I know it seems impossible now, but we will be talking about spring break, field trips and, yes, graduation, before you know it.

It's always a little difficult to settle back in after the excitement of the holiday season, but our students have done a great job of getting back to the business of learning.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. I will be offering a Public Information Session regarding our replacement EP&O levy at the Valley View Elementary Library. This is open to the community and we encourage anyone with lingering questions to join us!

Thank you for your continued support of our community's children.

Your Partner in Education,
Superintendent Troy Tornow

Students Celebrate MLK Day

Music, readings, and thoughtful expressions marked the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day assemblies and celebrations throughout the District.

Valley View came together for a special assembly to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King Jr.. Physical Education teacher, Mr. Teasley, share an inspiring message with students about the importance of kindness, courage, and the meaning behind our recent day of observance.
During the assembly, students learned how Dr. King used his words and peaceful actions—rather than his fists—to change unfair laws. We discussed how he led with a heart full of love and demonstrated incredible perseverance and grit, even when things were difficult.

Under the direction of Jenny Humphrey, EHS orchestra performed Ashokan Farewell with the band for the MLK Assembly. The Morgan orchestra performed We Shall Overcome with the choirs for their MLK Assembly

New EHS Athletics Website

We are excited to announce the launch of the new Ellensburg High School Athletics website, powered by ArbiterSports. Our existing URL is now connected to this new platform, so please continue to visit www.ehsbulldogs.com  for all EHS athletics information.

This website is directly linked to Arbiter Scheduling, the system used by athletic directors and officials to schedule games, assign officials, and confirm event locations. Because of this integration, the site provides the most accurate and up-to-date athletic schedule information available.

As we transition to this new platform, we are continuing to learn how to fully maximize its features. The site will be updated regularly and will include team rosters, schedules, and important athletics-related announcements.

We encourage students, parents, and community members to use www.ehsbulldogs.com
as the primary source for all EHS athletic schedule information. Updates and posts will continue as we expand our knowledge and use of the platform. Looking ahead, it is also our hope to eventually create a district-wide athletic schedule that includes both EHS and MMS athletic programs.

If you have any questions, please contact Cole Kanyer, EHS Athletic Director, or Melissa McCracken, EHS Athletics & ASB Secretary.

Every Student, Every Day

We can share a list of where our local Levy dollars are spent, but we thought you'd like to see firsthand. Even in a general classroom setting, if your teacher is experienced, then ESD is paying for part of their salary. Or maybe there is a paraprofessional there to help, even though the State doesn't think we need one. Here are some of the great ways we spend your money.
